Leo XIV announces lung surgery following discovery of nodule.
Pope Leo XIV, 71, unexpectedly announced during Sunday's Angelus prayer in St. Peter's Square that he will undergo lung surgery in the coming days. Doctors discovered a nodule in one of his lungs during recent examinations. The Pope said it was detected at a very early stage. The Vatican said the operation would take place early next week at Rome's Agostino Gemelli Hospital, with an expected hospital stay of one week.
No cancer diagnosis has been announced, and it remains unclear whether the nodule is benign or malignant.

Leo XIV will have surgery next week to remove a nodule in his lung.

It makes no difference that the Pope is ill; do not worry, dear sedevacantists and Palmarians—here on Gloria.tv, we will keep insulting him and calling him a heretic and a modernist, along with all the bishops and priests in the world (except for a mere handful like Schneider or Eleganti).

"Catholics" who hate the Pope because he isn't the Pope—a decision they made themselves in a homemade conclave.

Leo XIV appoints another 🌈 Bishop for England. He defended a homosexual Eucharist.
Today, Pope Leo XIV appointed Bishop Timothy Menezes, 56, as the Bishop of Brentwood, succeeding Bishop Alan Williams, 75.
Menezes has served as Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham since his episcopal consecration in July 2024. As such, he defended the periodic homosexual Eucharists at St Patrick's parish in Coventry. The homosexual group there emerged from the Synodal process.
Menezes wrote a June 1, 2025 statement about the "LGBTQ+ Vigil Welcome Mass" on May 10, 2025 : “In my conversations with some members of the group, they find attending Mass in a parish difficult against the backdrop of what they sometimes see to be a Church that does not accept them. This means that they find a Mass at which they know that they are accepted, which is a first step to hopefully full integration in our parish communities.”
Notably, Bishop Menezes commented in support of the homosex Eucharist although Coventry was not within …Дукха

US Bishop prohibits celebration facing the Lord (ad orientem).
On October 2, Bishop Jeffrey Walsh, 60, of Gaylord, Michigan, issued a decree restricting the celebration of the Mass towards the Lord. It takes effect on October 15.
Under the new rules, all Sunday and holy day Masses must be read - like a talk or show - facing the people.
On weekdays, no more than two Masses per parish may be celebrated ad orientem, and only after consultation with the parish council and appropriate catechesis.
Weddings, funerals, and other Masses with congregations must also be celebrated facing the people.
Masses according to the 1962 Missal are exempt.
The bishop invokes paragraph 299 of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), claiming it favors celebration versus populum.
However, the text of GIRM 299 does NOT require Mass to be celebrated facing the people. It recommends a freestanding altar that can be walked around to incense it with a thurible and permits celebration versus populum. It …Дукха

Archbishop presents sexual morality as an “ideal” instead of “rules to follow” at current Vatican meeting.
At Leo XIV’s meeting marking the tenth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia, Archbishop Timothy Costelloe of Perth, Australia called for “a shift in the Church’s culture” in his October 9 address.
Discussing contemporary attitudes toward sexuality, he stated that “the concept of a necessary link between sexual activity and procreation, […] is no longer widely understood or accepted.”
Archbishop Costelloe advocated presenting the Church’s theology of marital intimacy as “an ideal worth striving for rather than as a list of rules and regulations to be followed.”
He repeated his point: “Presenting ideals to work towards rather than rules to follow is more likely to win people over and enable them to see the values which underpin those rules and regulations.”
Monsignor Costelloe stated that young couples living together before marriage are “falling short of the ideal of Chistian marriage,”…Дукха

In the Ruins, Catholics Found Hope: What Happened at CIC 2026
The 2026 Catholic Identity Conference did not shy away from the crisis confronting the Church. But amid warnings about synodality, religious life, and the loss of Catholic identity, something else emerged: hope. From Bishop Schneider and Sr. Mary Anne to Emperor Karl's nephew and the SSPX, Catholics in Pittsburgh were reminded that Christ remains King and that Our Lady's Heart will triumph.
Reflections from The 2026 Catholic Identity Conference

I left the 2026 Catholic Identity Conference (CIC) in Pittsburgh this past weekend with a heart full of gratitude and quiet confidence. Yes, the testimony of bishops, religious, and lay faithful did not shy away from naming what Bishop Athanasius Schneider lamented as an “unprecedented crisis” touching doctrine, morals, liturgy, and discipline. However, far from leaving me despondent, the speakers’ unflinching candor ignited something unexpected: a deep, resilient hope. For amid the …Дукха

Austrian Archbishop hails Amoris Laetitia as “groundbreaking” guide to Church mercy.
Archbishop Franz Lackner of Salzburg, president of the Austrian Bishops’ Conference, praised Pope Francis’ 2016 exhortation Amoris laetitia on October 6 as a guide to “authentic mercy.” He urged the Church to “accompany” people in “all life situations.”
Amoris laetitia was basically about sacrilegious Communion for adulterers.

“The Church is not a sinking ship, it is simply being remodeled,” Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Archbishop of Munich, said before the Diocesan Council on October 9. He added: “We will continue sailing together on the high seas.”
According to the cardinal, society, and with it the Church, was going through troubling times at both the global and diocesan levels.
