His goal is to remove it by finding out it's name and what good or bad does it do by doing it." The priest is never supposed to respond to the devil or engage with the devil in any sort of discourse at all. His goal is just to force the demon to exit through the power if Christ. Period. I have heard that the new Rite of Exorcism is quite ineffective. And I know that Father Malachi Martin continued to say the traditional Catholic Mass although he was a periti at Vatican II. I assume he continued to use the Traditional Rite of Exorcism. I question the credibility of Novus Ordo priest exorcists. Although the devil is a liar, devils have been compelled to speak on the glory and power of Mary.
