In a complex information system there are few paths that are coherent and a plethora that muck things up. There are so many dead ends compared to coherent paths that the dead ends swamp the data crunching. It's interesting to note that many new ideas were inspired by dreams. Getting them to work was governed mainly by selective simulation and sometimes by accident.
