Women-Led Liturgy of the Word with Bread and Grapes: During a Liturgy of the Word at the chapel on Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, two female pastoral assistants blessed a candle dedicated to the “female apostle” Mary Magdalene - alongside the chapel's traditional twelve apostle candles. A symbolic ritual in which bread and grapes were shared also took place. Participants held the bread and fruit reverently in their hands, almost as though they were sacred elements. The Archdiocese of Paris had planned to withdraw from the chapel Notre-Dame-du-Lys by June because of the cost of repairing the aging buildings - €1 million in the short term and about €3 million over the longer term.
